UK lawns are damp for much of the mowing season, and that is where a lot of mowers struggle. This is what independent reviewers found:

  • Tom's Guide found the eufy E15 slipped on damp grass.
  • netzwelt found the ECOVACS GOAT O800 slips on wet slopes.
  • TechRadar found the LUBA 3 AWD's front wheels can scuff thin grass in shady spots.

What helps

  1. All-wheel drive spreads grip across more wheels on wet slopes. Look for AWD in the comparison table.
  2. A rain sensor or rain schedule sends the mower home before the lawn turns to mud. LUBA 3 and Worx Vision Cloud have rain sensors; Navimow uses weather forecasts; eufy returns to base in rain.
  3. Lower weight means fewer ruts. Weights range from about 10 kg to nearly 29 kg.
  4. Vary the route. Most apps let you change the mowing angle so the mower does not wear the same tracks.

On heavy clay, set a rule to skip mowing for a day after heavy rain, whatever the sensor says.
